McMurrays Haulage is a family-owned road haulier, long established in Accrington since 1971. They deliver goods throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe and also provide warehousing services. They have a strong reputation for excellent service, as their customers testify.
Haulage is something that has become increasingly important since the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world in 2020. Drivers became key workers, delivering essential supplies and food across the nation. McMurrays stepped up to the challenge, and kept the wheels on the road.
Following their previous expansion, McMurrays have now invested a further three million pounds. This investment includes a new site development, which will give them additional warehousing space and room for cross dock facilities. They also have a delivery of twenty new S500 Scania trucks coming later in the year. They have even invested and commissioned a brand new 50th Anniversary truck to mark the occasion, which you’ll already able to see out and about on the roads.
Rob Spencer, Commercial Manager said: “Following our rapid expansion, we’re now on a recruitment drive. We’re working with North Lancs Training Group to find apprentices for all areas right across the business, to bring them on as the next generation. We also need experienced drivers, fork lift truck drivers, and warehouse operatives. We’ve got a great team, and we need more people!
